Kotouttaminen luistelun avulla = Safiirit
Espoo Figure Skating Club (ETK) established two new multicultural beginner-level groups last year for children aged 4–10. The groups are intended for children participating in a skating school for the first time. Initially, the groups were funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and now they are provided by the Espoo Figure Skating Club itself. These popular groups will continue in fall 2025, and the new name of the group is Safiirit (Sapphires)!

Espoon Taitoluisteluklubi (ETK) started last year two new multicultural beginner-level groups for 4-10 year old children. The groups are for children who are participating in Skating School for the first time.
The practices are held in Matinkylä practice rink on Saturdays
Group for 4-6 year old children (Safiirit 4-6v.) at 10:40-11:20
Group for 7-10 year old children (Safiirit 7-10.v) at 11:20-12:00 The course is full, but you can registrate to queue

First practices of the spring season will be held on Saturday 5.9. and the practices continue untill 19.12. There are no practices during the autumn holiday (17.10.).
This skating course is free of charge.

What to wear
We offer skates and helmets for all participants to borrow during the practices (use of own gear is possible).
A skater should have their own warm and flexible clothes and gloves. A thin beanie or a headband can be worn under the helmet.
All the participants are insured for the ice practices by Pohjola Vakuutus. For insurance, we need the participants Sporting-ID. The Sporting-ID can be purchased from Suomisport.fi. Here is what to do:
- Log in to Suomisport: https://info.suomisport.fi/en/
- From the menu: choose ”Add a dependent” and fill in your child’s information
- The dependent’s Sportti-ID will appear on childs’ own site.
- Add the Sportti-ID number to your dependants’ profile in myClub under Luistelijapassi/vakuutus/Sportti-ID.
